I called someone's second wife, by the first wife's name.

I did something worse than that - I asked how someone's wife was doing, and she was dead.

dang!!!....Once when I was a teenager, I asked some girl how her Grandmother was....and unfortunately, it happened to be her Mom.....I felt bad....but....

At a company social function when I was 19, I introduced a bank exec's young girlfriend as his daughter....I didn't last long in that job.

Just last week I emailed an 'ex' friend, told her about a mutual freind of ours--that this elderly lady was quite ill. She raced over to see this elderly lady, and the lady was NOT happy to see this person.
She called me and chewed me a new - uh - well she chewed me out for telling this other person about her and her health, etc.
BOY I should have kept my mouth shut. I didn't realize these 2 people were no longer 'friends' at all.....
