Thank You, Veterans

See first reply. This post is a tribute to our patriots who serve, and to our great country, where we have the freedom to disagree without jeapordising our lives or families....thank God.

If that would offend you, please do not open this post.

I hope that the Veterans who fought under the Confederate flag are included. My great-grandfather and his brother fought for the South. They fought for what they believed in as did my grandpa who fought in the Great War and stayed an extra year in France to re-build roads and bridges.

Thank you for posting this. The men and women that served during the Vietnam War Era were never thanked in their time. It has only been in recent memory that we were thanked properly. Most of it was too late for many but the effort is still appreciated.

I think anyone who answers the call to arms by their country, no matter what side they fought on, or where they were sent, deserve to be honored.

We can argue the policies behind their deployments and service...but thank you to all the men and women who have served in our armed forces, from the time our country was founded.

Freedom is not free and if not for the men and women who serve in our military, things could be quite different. I thank all of them for their service to our country. My husband served during Vietnam - you are so right, Fella! May I honor all the men and women who served our country during Vietnam as a special aside? There were no parades when they came home.
