MiJoAnn----I too am petless--and for the most part manless. But I prefer to concentrate on other areas---like I'd love as well to stay in FL for the winter months...but alas, I still work full time--maybe in another 5-6 years....
MiJoAnn:
Join the crowd... I am also petless & manless. Appears there is a whole new breed of men out there & personally I don't like what they are all about. I figure I don't need the frustration & hurt many of men can inflict upon others. I've been a widow for 11 years & haven't found anyone worth wasting my time. Bitter? No, just adjust to what is. I keep busy doing whatever the Lord wants of me.
Am so sorry you lost Sammy & pray he will have a good home. The bill? Let's hope she will be kind & let it slip. We are in hard times & I can understand your dilemma....I'm in the same position & feel like I'm in a boat without any oars. Hang in there....the best is yet to be. Lotuslouse.
So sorry about Sammy. Are you thinking of a replacement? My cat's name is Sierra and if something happened to her I think I would have to find another one right away. Certainly since I have seen any man I would enjoy spending that much time with.
Cheers!!!
Sorry about your cat. I am in the opposite position. A mama cat "found" my house and had kittens under my deck. I already have a dog so now I have a cat family. I would like to adopt them but they are already becoming feral. I am feeding them and trying to spend time outside in their company but they refuse to let me near them. I talked with someone from our local Humane Society and that is what he suggested along with a few other tips. So far, not so successful. They love my dog, she nuzzles them and they share food with each other. According to their info, patience is the key. I am just worried about the approaching cold weather. They can go under the house in the crawl space but is that adequate? I know they need shots and other attention but it is going to be hard to get to that point. Oh yeah, the guy suggested as a last resort that I try to buy something called Havahart trap. He says it is a humane way to catch them and try to get them domesticated.
As for being manless, well, here is one more to add to the list. The ones that I have met are all looking for easy street, (someone to take care of them) and this was at various senior affairs around the city.
I agree with all you have to say about men. But I guess some younger women are looking for a sugar daddy and the old men fall for them. Read all the time about how some young women has ripped off some old man. I did have my share of romance with men the past 20 years but just too old now to find the kind of man who is of my generation and knows how to treat a lady. I do not plan to get anymore pets of any kind as just too much for me to get involved again. I think you should trap the kittens and take them to animal control. Also the mother cat as there are just too many cats and dogs without homes. Too many pets can ruin your home and is also very expensive to take care of. Sorry that I sound so heartless but I'm really more concerned about the welfare of all animals. And to just keep letting them breed and become wild is not the answer.
