Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group!
I am a poet and newly published author and was invited to this group by our wonderful group leader after appearing via radio on one of her excellent programs.
The piece that I read was one from my older poetry days when there was a lot of the militant left in me, and though I do not write a whole lot of poetry anymore, and kind of do my story writing thing, I still love poetry.
I was kind of a strange child and learned to love ( and recite) a lot of Robert Louis Stevenson and anything melancholy caught my eye as a teen.
Later, I got my grubby hands onto Gwendolyn Brooks and a lot of African American poets, both older and contemporary, but I love being in the midst of creative people, so here I am! ( Hand extended) Pleased to meetcha!
