The Cliche

Much maligned, criticized and looked at with disdain, the cliche is a fundamental part not only of our language, but of our thought processes.

How long can you go without using a cliche?

And, while we are at it, define cliche.

Can we confound the two with an euphemism?

I can't go very long without using a cliche. Likewise with metaphors. I think they serve as useful shortcuts in our language communication.

I think that proverbs usually have a sort of moral point , while cliches , more often than not , are simply mindless babble .
