Bullheadedness

Has anyone ever told you you were "bullheaded"? Maybe you had a mate or SO that was bullheaded. Just what is bullheadedness anyway and how can it affect relationships? Just what have you found is the best way to deal with a bullheaded person?

Yes I have been told that, however, I see it as I'm not a push over. I will take, I can and have taken a lot, but...when I've had enough, it really doesn't matter who says I'm bullheaded, I stand my ground.

I admit to being stubborn, not stupid. I always inform a new man, not to tell me what to do. You can suggest something, but don't tell me. I need to do things in my own way and in my own time. Then it is all good.

I have never been called "bullheaded" but I have been called "willful". I don't think they are one and the same since bullheadedness appears to imply more stubbornness. I do know people who are bullheaded and sometimes it can be like talking to a brick wall when dealing with them. If they are resistant enough a relationship with them can completely tank out. I think what really determines whether a person is bullheaded or not is their willingness to reason things out and then make necessary compromises. A bullheaded person will sometimes hold their ground even when proven wrong.

I don't know Rifle - what do you think? If it interferes with ones relationships then maybe it is a "bad" thing.
