Pessimistic vs. Optimistic

Are you more of one than the other? Which of these 2 thinkings can hurt one more?

I am a tried and true optimist. I make jewelry, which I sell at outdoor festivals. I have been rained on, snowed on, high winds and blowing sand, freezing temps or really hot. This what I have always done.
Yes I have a lot of stamina and I am an eternal optimist. I also love what I do. Yes, except for some bad weather this was a good year sales wise. This not my first recession doing fairs.
I am in good health, mentally and physically and best of all I am Happy! A lot of pessimists are in poor health either mentally or physically and they sure don't seem to be happy. I was married to one for 23 years and he fit that to a tee.

Being in the hospital I am the great optimist spreading it like peanut butter on a sandwich I have literaly become famous for it. In Viet Nam I saw the enemy behind every tree the great pestamis always prepared for the worse. How else do you live through a war?
Does it not depend on the circumstance which is more damaging or rewarding ?

just like the song says i'm the eternal optimist. i'm happy, i look for the best in people, and usually have a smile on my face. my glass is always half full.... don't know where this came from, it's nothing i did, i think i was born this way.

optimist when it comes with my life but I'm definately pessimistic when it comes to government and politics. It never ceases to amaze me how politicians promise the world but never explain how they'll solve their chosen issues and once in office, as the reality of partisan politics rears its ugly head, they flippity flop, flippity flop.

I'm an optimist and I try to have the attitude that the glass is not only half full, there's a festive little umbrella in it, too!

I do envy pessimists, though. Think about it.....they're either right or they're pleasantly surprised.

I am truly a optimist with alot of pessimistic thoughts. Usually the good over rule the bad, and I am pleased with that. But certian people can bring me back down to the pessimitic level.

I don't know what I am. I'm cheerful and people always see me with a smile on my face and come to me for advice and comfort but despite my outlook things never seem to pan out the way I hope so basically I have given up expecting good things . A bright and positive pessimist? Is there such a thing?
