Sure, if the ladder supports me :)
I imagine these are very popular in dorms. I have four twin beds in a loft by my cabin. Not so sure I'd get this up there. My guests tend to be my age. Maybe if I got one that looked more "rustic", I'd consider it.
I would if I could but even if I did get up there how would I get down? I love the one with the red chair. Wonder if it makes out into a bed?
One of my kids has two girls in one small bedroom. Bunk beds. When I go there, the teen girl shares the room with me. I don't care much for the bottom bunk, but tried getting my less than flexible butt up the ladder into the top bunk. Did that once. Amazing how quickly you can get used to the bottom bunk once you learn not to sit up too fast.
I had one for my kids when they were small. A twin on top and a full on the bottom
These are very popular for college kids due to the extra space. I would not even consider trying to climb up there and like pinkrose, I would never be able to get down.

I once dated a guy who had elevated his bed like this so he could utilize the space underneath for other purposes. Yes, I did climb into it. But only once. And never again. LOL
I think the ladder would start getting pretty tired after a while. I'm elevating my bed atop three desks...two at the head facing outward, one at the bottom facing out. I will place sturdy ply on top, paint them pretty to match the room, place a mattress on top and voila! I will have a platform bed, lot of drawers, space between and will not have to use ladders! My little house when finished will be 20x20 or 400sq. ft. so I want to take advantage of any space I have.

Kiilele, will you have at least a step to get into the bed? A standard desk height is 29" or 30" from the floor. Add the mattress, and you will need to take a running leap to get into bed. But it really is a great idea.
Kiilele, I'm trying to picture this in my head. Help me out here.
I'd love to try something like this for a small room in my first floor rental unit. But the bed has to be accessible for adults. Or, perhaps I'll do one for myself too.

I am a twin and slept my first 18 years in a bunk bed--on the bottom. Can't remember why I got stuck with the bottom. I can remember reading about putting a mattress on top of top kitchen cabinets. You had storage on the sides and foot of bed.
