Stuffing For Turkey

POPCORN STUFFING FOR TURKEY

Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing---imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure to tell when the turkey is thoroughly cooked but not dried out. Give this a try.

12-15 lb. turkey

1 cup melted butter

1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good)

1 cup uncooked popcoorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT) salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of he oven. Listen for the popping sounds.

When the turkey's ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it's done.

That was a funny one! Reminds me of the time when i was quite small and my sister and I begged our grandpa to make popcorn for us. He got a saucepan out, put some oil and the popcorn and started heating it up. A couple of minutes later popcorn starts shooting out all over the place. Seems he forgot to put a lid on the saucpan. We laughed our heads off watching the popcorn fly all over and grandpa desperately running around the kitchen trying to find a lid.
