I found the following. I've noticed it always there as well and finally decided to leave it rather than deleting everyday. I'm fairly certain I get it from a knitting site I read.

As long as it is in the vault it is not working so don't worry.

This is probably a cookie for RealPlayer. I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to make sure it doesn't show up as often, disable it from start-up programs. CCleaner has an easy to use system where you can disable some of your programs. But you do need some for your PC to run properly.
Nobody mentioned a name, but I'll guess you're talking about tkbell.exe. That's the memory resident real player that gets installed every d**n time you use realplayer. Programs that make themselves resident like they're the only thing you'll ever use have been a pet peeve of mine for years. I do not allow real player on any of my systems.

I uninstalled real player when I got this new pc about 2 months ago. I really don't know why they keep popping up. I do a lot of surfin on my laptop but not the pc yet the pc is always filled with cookies.
Does my leaving it on all night have anything to do with it and should I just shut it down each night?

There might be traces of RealPlayer in your registry that might be getting the tracking cookies. This is one of the things a registry cleaner is good for, i.e., getting rid of those traces.
But as Cathbad said, as long as it's in the virus vault, it's inactive. Tracking cookies aren't dangerous in the sense that they will in any way harm your computer. They are at worst an invasion of privacy, but a relatively benign invasion of privacy.
It really doesn't have anything to do with how long you keep your computer on. But, I am one of those who believes that you should turn your computer off, at least at night. And I'll tell you why. When you leave your computer on 24/7 you're not allowing either the hard or the CPU to cool down. And the biggest enemy to the longevity of circuitry is heat. And putting it in sleep mode won't do the trick either, because even though you're using less electricity the CPU and hard drive are still running. Even though I have my PC set to go into sleep mode after 15 minutes, I still turn it off at night or even when I don't use it for extended periods of time.
typo correction: When you leave your computer on 24/7 you're not allowing either the hard drive or the CPU to cool down.
One thing i like about crap cleaner , you can select what cookies you want to keep and delete
the rest . That way i don't have to type passwords in at login .
I leave my computer on 24 hours a day . Just reboot ever now and again . One of my computers is on all the time so i can use skype . I have a phone adapter that lets me use my cordless phones . It won't work on my 64-bit machine , only works on 32-bit systems . As far as i know my computer run fairly cool !
am one of those that does not like leaving my box on 24/7. i shut it down .
as for cooling. mine are old. so , replaced all the fans inside and
i keep them clean. do not let dirt, dust build up in them.
be amazed how fast it does. more so, if you have pets, shredding hair will get in your box.
Good point, matchstich! Dirt and dust covering the hard drive and CPU makes it that much harder for the fans to cool them down, thus shortening the lifespan of your computer.
