Hello, Newbie! I mean Jon. So nice of you to introduce yourself. We are a friendly
group of ex-pats, anglophiles and Brits who are in the UK like yourself. Do tell us
how you found the group, jump in the threads and have fun!! opk
Hello and welcome to the fun! If you love chocolate, food and drink you will fit right in! haha....well we do try to be somewhat sophisticated now and then and have intelligent conversation without drool...but its few and far between....kidding....or not....haha
What part of the U.K are you from? I love the wind but i must admit im a bit sick of rain right now as its all we have had for weeks and weeks!
Well you beat me to the welcome but none the less I am very happy that you joined us here. I hope you will find the group entertaining. Don't take us too seriouse and have fun. We do seem to like our food posts even though Britain seems to have a reputation for bland food I don' think too many in this group will agree with that assessment. We seem to always have a good time when its brought up. Please feel at home and post when every the mood strikes.
Welcome Jon, we seem to have a lot of fun here. E is right, food, especially the sweet stuff, is a very popular topic in this group. Bland food? My all time favourite food is still beans and chips, which is far from bland! lol
Thanks all for the welcome, I was invited here by Espirit about 10 minutes after signing up on eons.com. As to where i live in uk i was born in kent and being of romany blood could not settle in one place but my roots now have firmly planted in west sussex (crawley) that has been for last 25 years or so. In respect of food cant beat good home made british cooking ie: bacon pudding ,cheese n potato pie.
That reminds me. It's time for supper!
Crawley? Isn't that near Gatwick? Maybe I'm confusing it with Horley or maybe because it's
exactly 24:00 hours where I am in Asia Minor I need to go to bed and sleep on it and tomorrow
have a clearer picture of the Sussex counties in Ing~Land. :-)
yes its near gatwick and horley.
So there is a Crawley? Well, then, hmmm I've stayed in that area twice.
I like its proximity to Gatwick of course but it's a great jumping off point
for many nice things like Arundel and Chichester. Uhhhh....still thinking..
Crutchfield Farm!! is where I stayed in 98 and then in 06 stayed in Sher which
is in Surrey but VERY close by way of A25 or is it A26. I need to bone up
on the local geography and my old road maps. Time to go back to England.
