Its only costing me $400.. for a Head job

Well last night I successfully removed the air conditioner and alternator and drained the radiator and disconnected all the hoses a long with about a thousand other little things that needed to be disconnected...lets hope I remember where it all goes......this after noon I hope to remove the heads and take them to a buddy of mine who builds racing motors...he has the equipment to " shave the heads or if you prefer head job" which makes them perfectly flat again for the new gasket...he tells me he can do it for about $115.00 per head...I consider that a deal.....over all if nothing else is wrong with the motor I should get out for right around $400.00 which includes gasket kit ,,new oil (twice, some water did get into oil so I have to run a engine flush) and other fluids such as anti-freeze...I might go ahead and replace the radiator hoes while I have the old one off.....I guess in some places that would be a lot of money to pay for a " head job" but I think its a good deal....does anybody else know what a " head job " cost in their area..I would love to know

I was going to ask if anyone knew of a full service station in my town, to get my tires aired up, but I think I had better go on a search alone, I may get something I really do not need right now. Thanks for the giggles you crazy people.

my last head job cost about 80 dollars, the cost of a meal and about 5 or 6 drinks
I found the mechanic on POF
not shaving my head
not checking for warpage, let me just say their is a little
and no gasket was allowed by the mechanic, tho I always keep one with me
all in all well worth the price

Easy, that price is a great price. But I would ask to have the heads Magna-Fluxed. I can hear the giigles already. But any machine shop can usually do that. It will find the tiny cracks that you can't see with the naked eye.

Ok giggling to order.
Way cheaper than a new engine Easy. Once owned a 46 Willys Jeep that blew head gaskets regularly.
