Boy am I late answering this! I've been doing a lot of traveling lately, inland Mexico and on the sea. I've spent over 3 weeks in Huatulco, then brought the boat back up to Zihuatanejo. Spent 3 weeks in Oaxaca, which was absolutely fabulous.

I think the pics you're talking about are of my fiance's hotel. Yes, fiance, it happened! She owns a small guest hotel in Zihua (which is for sale by the way). One picture is the patio and pool, the other the balcony of a second story apartment. The other is San Blas

The hotel is for sale so we can sail into the south pacific. Right now we open it for the tourist season Dec 1 to the end of april. We're completely booked this year.www.quintacamelinas.com Great home or retirement income if anybody interested.

Wow Ian, congratulations! And isn't Oaxaca totally gorgeous??? I LOVED it, spent over two weeks there last year and it is phenomenal.

How did you meet your fiance, and is she a Mexican national or American? This is great news!!!

Oaxaca is a truly interesting place. We stayed at the hostel quixote(sp) for 25 a night private room, it's only a few blocks from downtown plaza.visited Monte Alban, and about 20 mezcaleros, mitla, tule, tehuantapec, and about a dozen other areas. a little cold, but it was good to escape from the heat at the beach.

Deb's an expatriote Bostonion. went through a divorce 4 1/2 years ago and to get away from everything came down to Zihua because she was fascinated with it from the movie "shawshank redemption." She liked the hotel she was staying in . . . . so . . .she bought it, then poured about $80,000 into it for improvements. She loves sailing, and when I pulled in to anchor, she was looking at my boat with the eyes and all (it is a beautiful boat), conversation ensued, and here we are. this photo is her pulling a sheet. lens was a little covered with salt so it's not too clear.

My Honey and I are headed from San Diego to Acapulco, Ixtapa, and Manzanillo on a cruise tomorrow. This is the first I have been able to get him south since we met (Christmastime last year) and married (in May). We are being tourists this year, but I will try to get him involved in my projects in the future.
