No, I don't think I would want to start my own business at this stage of my life. I'm happy with my life right now and work is work regardless if you are working for a company or own the business yourself.
I'm with mightyminnie, I would rather not work. Volunteeing is more my style. Doing something you like on a part time basis is much more fun.

No, I don't think I would like to start a new business at my age not that I ever really ran a business - but it takes a lot of hard work. My sisters have businesses. One a grocery store, one an apartment bldg. We have a 8-plex that my husband does maintenance for and I sometimes help clean after the tenants move out. Some have renters have left them clean but the majority did not. What is worse is they leave furniture, clothes, pots/pans, cookware, etc., for us to throw away. Not good.
I am giving it some thought. I ran a manufacturing business and was a partner in it. we sold it and I came out of that pretty well..I got into that business as a consultant when they were going broke and the owner gave me part of it for turning it around..kind of like a gunfight or a car race..I miss it..and wonder if I've got another win left in me.
Starting a business requires more time working than I want to do at this point in my life. I spend time volunteering and writing my first mystery novel. I know that the writing part sounds like work and it is but I enjoy it so much it's fun for me.
I would not start a business, unless a really bad situation forced me to do that in order to survive. Fortunately, finances are still very good after 8 years of retirement.
