5th Tuesday

Well the good news is that I did lose slightly and that my shape is changing. I find that the shape change is a bigger reward than the weight loss.
This is the 5th week that I have been doing this and while I would like to have instantly lost a bunch of pounds I am happy to be doing a good maintainence program and not gaining. I like trying to introduce things one at a time, and I especially liked the suggestion about doing the exercise bit on the hour throughout the day. I have put some weights next to my chair so I can use them while watching tv. I have developed a hatred for tv commercials so I use that time to "do" things. The reason I like this idea is because it takes me a while to get upright in the mornings (bad back) and some days I just dont manage it at all. So this will work for me.
So far I have.. eliminated the salt shaker and the sugar bowl and the butter dish from the table...cut back to max 2 sliced of bread a day...Pasta twice a week...use smaller plates for dinner... cut down on portion sizes...5 fruits and vegs per day minimum.
The problem areas are the snacks...other than that I think my diet is in pretty good shape.
