that is such a beautiful area! so glad to see the water coming back--our lake is coming up again here, too!
Were you in the area for a getaway? My sister used to live out on 100+ acres near Blanco--I miss being able to hang out there~

My dad and step mom used to have an art gallery in Wimberley. I love that part of the state. It's so beautiful there.

I was wrong about the possibility of seeing fall colors, but with such beautiful, peaceful scenery who cares.
Thanks for posting these and making us all envious too.

Hi Stace, yes we were there with my husband's family for our niece's baby's christening Sunday and made a three-day weekend of it. We rented a house on the river with my husband's siblings... it was a lot of fun and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. Just going through photos now...it was funny, I had taken my camera down to the river behind the house Sunday afternoon after the church service and look what I came across.

A little further down the river, I found my step-son playing with his dog Pearl and behind him is our niece's husband (father of the baby). I was trying to catch Pearl in mid-air during one of her leaps into the water.

Here is the guest of honor and his mommy (our niece) later that evening.

We had fun and I was NOT ready to come home!

Yes, I agree about the area -- would absolutely love to live there! It was VERY hard coming back to Houston. I'm ready to go back now!

aww, such a cutie pie!

It really is a great part of the state--I will be going through there on my way to Uvalde to my niece's for Turkey Day--I always go through Blanco and then through Boerne, Bandera...the back roads from here--so much nicer that way :o) I live closer to Marble Falls than Austin anyway so it's actually quicker too.
