Weather related aches & pains

I had a friend who said that her big toe hurt whever a rain was eminent. Took her word for it because at the time I wasn't bothered with OA. Now, I do hurt more on the cool, damp days.
My cousins have RA so, I can count myself lucky that I don't have that. It doesn't help them to live in the humid, cold midwestern climate.

Yes Dee38, my left hip and left knee hurt on rainy day that is also cold--and on the colder days--temps below 45 . I use a lot of heat during the winter months. Last winter, my left hip was so painful.A few years ago, I was in Las Vegas for 5 days, I did not have ANY joint pain--because of the dry heat out there. RA is very painful; something is going on with my left thumb and has been for several months--I have very sharp pains in the thumb, particularly at night when the weather is cooler.

Thank you for your reply. I'm finding that my hips and knees feel better when I wear sweat pants during the winter. They aren't very dressy but, I find that I can wear them most places. I live in an area where the summers are dry and hot (near Sacramento), however, the winters are rainy.
I had pains in both my thumbs, very sharp pains. They have quit being painful but I definitely have swollen joints in my thumbs.

I too suffer from OA in my thumbs. I had meds, shots and finally the surgery. My hands are so much better but still hurt on cold damp days. I've invested in a pair of Lands End gloves. There the 300 series and they seem to help a lot. pat

Will have to see about some Lands End ( 300 series) gloves. They would probably be a good idea for me in the winter. Thanks for the info. I imagine there is a web site for that?
