90th Birthday Gift

Any suggestions what to give my great uncle for his 90th birthday?

- Very active.
- Sharp mental capacities. No senility.
- Up-to-date on current affairs.
- Strong opinions; stand-up guy
- Long history of community activism and involvement.
- Church man (only because my great aunt made him go)
- No drink/smoke
- Used to hunt

He and my great aunt (88 y/o) still live in their home of 65 years.
They've been married 65 years.

A this is your life party. With lots of people bringing little insignificant gifts that symbolize different points of his life. A total surprise for him and involve a lot of people. Hopefully you can find enough time to plan such a thing. these people don't want things, but the things we can say that were important while they were living, is usually a real great hit. It's like they are hearing their eulogy in real time and knowing how much people really cared about him.

Probably got everything that he wants- a good woman, a home and family. Probably being taken out to dinner might be all he wants- something that won't be too taxing but full of good cheer. Hope he remembers to bring his teeth:):):)

How about a framed collage filled with photos of him and his family from his birth till now? maybe a wedding photo included.
This could have warm hearted messages written on it by many of the family members.
You might need to ask other family members for some of the pictures but what a special gift to give someone who has everything.

I am taking my Dad on a cruise for his 85th birthday. It will be a surprise. He loves to travel by car (we will travel by car because plane and boat is too much) and talking to people.

It gets harder as they get older. Just start taking note of everything he enjoyed or really enjoyed when he was in his sixties or seventies. Hopefully you will come up with a clue.

Last year I took my 75 year old cousin to a restaurant that overlooked the city we live in. She spent more time staring out looking over the city and reminiscing then she did eating her food. We went at dusk so she could still notice different landmarks and then it was really fascinating as it got darker.
