I would think anything natural would look nice. Some of the little wooden ornaments, maybe a few candy canes, You say you don't want your tree to look over crowded. I may not be a good one to give advise on this LOL. I love an over decorated tree, lots of ribbon and bows. In my opinion, it would not be too much with ribbon. I like your idea of the scented pine cones, I would just go with an all natural look. I have taken the clear balls and filled them with bird seed. I'm sure someone here will have some good ideas for you.
Yes, different species of birds among the branches and pine cones and those clear balls filled with birdseed sounds very nice. Then I could do the ribbon thing woven in and out of the branches. I can hardly wait!
I like that with the birds, You are going to have one beautiful Christmas tree!
I think your basic theme sounds beautiful. I also think you need something bright so visual...you can work your way around the tree. Something red..like small cardinal birds or red apples. Please take a pic of your tree it sounds delightful. The aroma will fill the air.
OH yes indeed ladywrite be sure and share your Christmas Tree with us when you get it all decorated. We may have a tree decorating contest on here, who knows? But it sounds like we are all going to have to get busy with some ideas to beat yours! LOL
I am seeing the color gold, on your tree ladywrite2! I think gold would go very pretty, with your rust and green colors in your living room!
Thank youu flowerkid. Gold is certainly an option since the other ornaments are sort of dark and obscure. And yes silverowl I think a Christmas tree contest would be a lot of fun plus a sharingof ideas for future trees, don't you think?
A couple of years ago, we had our house on the market, and so in order to show the flow of the house, couldn't close the doors between the living room and dining room and put our tree in front of it, which is what we normally did. So, I bought a 4 ft artificial tree that is dusted to look like snow, and it came with red berries and white lights on it. I also bought some of those pinecones, and hot-glued burgundy colored ribbons to them. Then, I bought bird ornaments and hung on it. I love it. Prior to having that tree, my trees had always been decorated with ornaments that I've collected all my life, no two alike, and I loved that, as well. Trying to figure out how to have both this year (the house isn't really big enough for two trees, but I love the bird tree, and miss my other ornaments!).
I really am getting into the bird, pinecone thing. I told my husband this morning that I'm beginning to have anxiety attacks waiting until it's time to pu up the tree.LOL!
why wait ladywrite, to put up your tree. Only have it once a yr so may as well get it up and ENJOY it for a couple months! Take it down the day after C'mas! This is getting me stirred up, wanting a tree. I have a fake one, and am thinking it's time for a new fake one!! (has to be small) I like this season and its decorations too.
