1.) Where in your group did you see this incorrect time and
2.) how did you change it?
I'm curious, too, about where you saw the incorrect time. There is no clock in any of my groups. Then, again I am not a moderator. Maybe only the person who started the group, or one of their moderators can see what you are talking about.
A clock? We got clocks, now, too? Yippee. Now I can see just how long I am spending my remaining years on Eons groups.
Perhaps blueeyes53 is talking about her computer's clock?
I see everything right . Maybe she don't see recent up to date posts ?
@blueyes53 - My cohort MattyDubs reminded me that you might be the same person who was using some kind of browser accelerator that caused other problems. It was automatically clicking links. Sound familiar? If so, this might be a factor.
Most likely, your computer's broken clock is telling your browser that it's October 30th. The browser thinks it has an "up-to-date" copy of Eons in its cache. (Hopefully it's only a partial copy because, otherwise, you won't be reading this.) Here's something to do: Dump your browser's cache. Better yet, dump your browser! Install a modern browser if you haven't already. Also, of course, fix your computer's clock. I don't know Windows. Could be something simple.
Computer Clock could be set a day late . See what day it is set on . But i don't see what that would have to do with Eon's . Tallbob's advice is probably right on your problem !
What I don't understand is why is it just messing with one of your groups? You were able to contact the eons help team and receive a reply from them, yet only one group is stuck on the 30th? Did you reboot?
ValentineBaby - that could be attributable to browser caching.
Something very weird is going on, and whatever is causing it should be uninstalled. I'm 99% certain that tallbob is right. Something on your computer is inappropriately caching our pages. If we're able to troubleshoot what it is, you should uninstall that program, because it's very broken.
In layman's terms, something on your computer (or, less likely, something with your Internet Service Provider) is saving copies of webpages, and, when you try to view them, it's serving you those old copies. This is "caching," and, used appropriately, it can help to speed things up. But the problem is that whatever on your computer is keeping these caches is showing outdated information. All the pages on Eons have headers telling your browser, "This content is always changing, so don't ever save a cached copy. Always come back to get the latest one." And some program on your computer is flagrantly disregarding those instructions.
The fact that your clock is wrong could exacerbate the problem, making it think that the page wasn't yet expired. Technically, the headers say that the page can be cached for "0 seconds," so if time moved backwards on your computer clock, it might think that 0 seconds haven't elapsed yet.
A few scattered questions:
What are you using to browse the Internet?
Are you using a download accelerator?
Are you using AOL?
If you hit "Refresh" in your browser, does it help? Does it load the page instantly, which would indicate that it's just serving you a stale, locally-cached version? If none of that works, rebooting may help clear everything out, but the problem will probably happen again after a while.
As a tangential -- and yet somewhat relevant note... Assuming you're using Windows, when you're changing your clock, there should be an "Internet Time" tab. If you click on that and enable it, it will keep your computer's clock synchronized over the Internet.
Let me know if any of this is unclear.
