Hi, Allen: I prefer the mystery genre. I get 4-6 books from the library every two weeks. We have a really class library system here and we can get good books in any genre that interests us. I just took out Swimsuit by James Patterson. I have a number of "favorite authors", and he is one of them. I bought The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, but I just can't seem to get into it right now. I almost didn't read the DaVinci Code because it was a slow starter, too. I want a book to take off and catch my interest immediately, or I generally go onto something else.
What kinds of books do you prefer? If you say sci-fi, you've lost me already. That was the only kind of book my husband would read, but I just don't get it. Anything beyond Alice in Wonderland or Get Smart is too much sci-fi for me! hahaha
I read all kinds of books (in no particular order of importance): mystery, fantasy, romantic suspense, women's fiction, thrillers, etc. I have lots of favorite authors, but my favorite book is usually whatever I'm reading at the time. I tend to read anywhere from 2-6 books a week, depending on whatever else I have going on and how light or heavy the book is. I recently finished An Echo in the Bone by Diana Galbaldon, and yesterday I read Danielle Steele's newest release. Currently, I'm reading Blood Game by Iris Johansen, which is very good and picks up right where her previous book ended.
Gosh, 2 to 6 books a week, that is great. I can only do one book every two weeks if I am lucky. That is because I only read at night when I go to bed. I've tried reading in the daytime, but I get restless after a few pages, so I hardly ever do the read thing during daylight hours. Like you ko48888, I like a variety in my reading, except for sci-fi which is not my bag. Quite a few favorite authors though.
