What is more important to success; intelligence or good manners?

The word "success" can mean many things.
In business - a person has to have a measure of intelligence in order to run it.
But also in business - if a person doesn't have good manners or is not personable with clients/customers - your intelligence isn't going to help.
In the office where I worked - customer service was priority.

A person's intelligence gages a person's good manners. Both are influenced by their invironment. This is why family is SO important to us as individuals. Unless a person has some hereditary issues from family members past, parent's are the force behind a child's attitude once he or she walks out into the "real" world.

My mother used to say that you can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. Lots of people who are successful and rich have absolutely no idea how to address others, hold a fork and knife correctly, or how their lack of manners shows disrespect to those around them.
