Some Sad News

Remember Joan of Ark (aka 'Little Joanie')?

Joanie was the horribly emaciated little Doxie that had been found this spring, and was being cared for by a very dedicated foster Mom in Texas.

Joanie went to the bridge this morning, as she was held by her foster Mom. She had fought hard to survive, but in the end, the odds were against her. I feel so sorry for the woman who had devoted herself to Joanie's care, she must miss her terribly. I'm bawling while I'm typing this, but I can't even imagine how badly she must feel.

You can read Joanie's full story starting with her rescue at the All Texas Dachshund Rescue.com website.

Please say a prayer for Little Joanie and especially for her Foster Family.

Who ever let that dog get in that condition deserves the same treatment! That is just sick! SICK! SICK! SICK!

OK I just went and read the whole story on this dog. Talk about lack of care and knowledge! The Vet that was working with her should be shot! They found the dog in April and THEN in October its when the Vet suggested that they let she eat what she wanted to eat when she wanted to eat it so they started feeding her hamburger. If they would have given her meat protein in the beginning, she would probably still be alive today. In dogs, lack of meat protein starves the brain. That is the reason she was acting confused. This dog suffered because of ignorance, from beginning to end!

the S.O.B. that did this to any dog deserved VERY cruel punishment , and I'd volunteer tu use my 6'2'' , 265 lbs of anger on this person.

Such a hard life sweet little Joanie had. Cindy and Mike did everything they knew to do for little Joanie and loved her these past months. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

OMG - what a horrible thing for such a sweet animal to have to go through. What is wrong with the vet who didn't give this little doxie protein until several months later.

A horrible, horrible, story...I have been following it as well, and I'm so upset that Joanie couldn't pull through. She had a lot of people praying and pulling for her. This is really upsetting. I don't understand how anyone can do this! Look at her sweet face and eyes, how can anyone hurt her? I'm just devastated...anytime I see or hear about something like this, my heart goes numb. God bless this little furbaby, she's definitely in a better place.

Heartbreaking news, I am so very sad over this. I will send Prayer to her family. At least she had love in the end.

How horrible. Like all of you all, I'm in tears just looking at the picture. I can't bear to read the story.
Like HarleyFXLR, I'd be more than happy to deal with the &^&*$# that caused this misery for this poor baby.
God bless her family!
