Future TV show?
Dana Stabenow, Alaskan mystery novelist, has signed a contract with Anchorage productions company Evergreen Films to produce a TV series in Alaska. Usually when you see "Alaska" in movies, it's actually some other state or Canadian province because it's expensive to shoot here, partly because of taxes. But the tax situation seems to be changing and it may be possible to have it here. Stabenow has had many contract offers, but has held out for this location, and she's hoping for an Alaska native actress to play her Aleut lead character Kate Shugak, who's been in 17 of her books. I haven't read any of hers, but now I just may.
