Truer words were never spoken. I propose that these words of wisdom be engraved in granite and placed on the highest pedestal for all the world to see. While it's true that any pie placed in front of me would not last long, this Texan is partial to pecan pie.

peach for me. or lemon meringue. or cocanut creme or sweet potato. pablo i'm with you on the "any pie placed in fromt of me" is gone thing. my favorite breakfast is blt sandwich hash browns and pie. there was a diner in a small town i used to live in where a 80 year old woman made about 10 kinds of pie every morning. she'd line 'em up on the counter and nobody could touch them 'til she decided they were ready. in those days blt -- $2.50 hashbrowns -- 80 cents. being there when Vi served the first slice of pie - priceless!

Well, I made the most wonderful apple pie with walnuts and raisins in a cheddar cheese crust. It is gone now. But I made a great big one for my daughters birthday next week and froze it. It was great! This is apple country so we have a big box of apples and I put a dent in it.
