Virginia Poised to Elect (R) Gov.

The latest Richmond Times-Dispatch poll shows the Republican gubernatorial candidate leading the Democratic candidate 53% to 41%. Only 6% undecided.

Virginia hasn't had a Republican governor since 1998.

Obama's visit to Virginia seems to have hurt the Dem. candidate.
That and the fact that the Dem. is a weak candidate who ran a poor campaign.
Literally "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."

This is one of the first tests of whether the Dem. lead will hold and whether Obama's influence can translate into success in local elections .

This is not good.

The "right-wing nutzies" are drunk with joy over this development.
Licking their chops!

In this race, i really didn't know if it was the Obama effect, or the candidate. He came out pretty negitive, and I think that really hurt him. All so this is mid-term, so more Neo-con will be out.

I think the Up state New York one is the better judge. (Neo-con vs repub) vs Dem.
