My copy is on it's way from Amazon. Can't wait. In the meantime I'm re-reading his collection of fiction and non-fiction "Trying To Save Piggy Sneed".

I love his books I will be going to get it. Owen Meany is also one of my favorites. TheWorld according to Garp got me started in high school.

I am ashamed to admit I haven't read any Irving since I read Owen Meany a couple of years ago...and LOVED it!

Same here, I loved Owen Meany, then tried a couple of his others and couldn't get into them. :(

Yes Owen Meany is on my favorites list but like anniegran I haven't read many others. Some where in the back of mind I know there was another but the title escapes me.

Really liked "The Cider House Rules", but my favorite Irving book is "A Son of the Circus".

Ran right to the library and got Owen Meany and started reading it last night. It sounded familiar and I realized I had seen a movie a few years ago called Simon Burch which seemed to be along the same lines as the book.

So I did some research and found out Simon Burch was based on a novel by John Irving... BINGO!
