Steyer Nature Preserve

Steyer Nature Preserve in Seneca County, Ohio. The large tree has been dated to 1724. In person it looks much larger than in the picture - it is huge! Not as ancient as the redwoods in California or trees in other parts of the world, but still fascinating to think it was here prior to the Revolutionary War!

great pictures, thank you. Its been raining here again. Last night the wind was just wild. Hardly any leaves left on the trees and no colour this year hardly at all.
Its great to see those old trees and to think about what they have seen in their lives. That looks like a nice place to walk.

Hi Espirit, these pics were taken Thursday. We've had rain and wind last night and today, also, so hardly any leaves on our trees now either! This is a beautiful place to walk. We only walked about 2 miles, but there are many more trails! Might have to wait until spring now to explore the rest!
