Dad Buys 4-Year-Old Daughter a Gun

Good Luck To Them Both!

Photobucket

The politics of packing heat in public places is difficult for Georgia Republicans. While the base is often gung-ho, many strategists worry that the idea of hidden pistols at PTA meetings and prayer services is a middle-class turn-off.

Last week, Georgiacarry kindly provided the audio from that summer panel discussion.

One of the participants was state Rep. Sean Jerguson (R-Holly Springs), a Georgiacarry member, who said he believes so strongly in gun ownership that, when his daughter turned 4 years old, he gave her a “pink .22.” His son was about to turn the same age, and would get a blue one, the lawmaker said.

...woke up this morning and you got yourself a gun..." sound familiar. Wise guys are seeming so tame now.....

Lock and load all you PTA moms! You just never know when one of 'those' parents and we all know who 'they' are, is gonna diss ya and you have to well, take em out!

And we wondered why 30 or more kids laffed and cheered when a child was being gang banged...

Maybe one of his kids will shoot him. In the head. It's obviously empty of brains so a bullet should pass right through without striking anything.

I hope CPS gets on his case, as they justifiably should.

I will give an 8 year old instruction with a size appropriate long gun. But giving a four year old a weapon is far beyond my understanding.

The mayor of Seattle had the unmitigated nerve to suggest that weapons should not be allowed in the parks within the city limits there. He said it because some guy, who did have a permit to carry, had been at an event and opened fire, killing people. Now, it is just common sense that guns should not be allowed where 1)large groups of people congregate and public events are held and 2)children go to play. However, you would have thought he suggested we test atomic weapons in Pike Place, given the immediate idiotic blather of the gun lovers, threatening court action. They would fit right in with this group in Georgia, apparently.

I'm charmed by the fact that they have pink weapons for little girls and blue ones for little boys.

You guys must have realized by now (if you even were concerned enough to think of it) that I love stirring up the right. However, I also know that you can only push them so far. Even I know a hornet's nest is not a pinata.

I am bothered by the notion that American conservatism is allegedly based on the idea of small government. Allegedly because that is not how conservatism was represented when I was a polisci major in the late 60s. Allegedly because government expanded under uber conservative Ronald Raygun and under spokespresident bush.

The contradiction (to me) is that the only government function they seem to endorse (other than keeping Negroes, Asians, Hispanics and women in their proper places) is security, which is the scariest function of government! Then, they want everyone to have a gun! Wow! How many of you know normal people who have guns?

I consider myself a fairly normal person and I have guns.

Is the 4-year-old girl allowed to pack heat to the pre-school?

I am not worried. She'll turn 11 and pubescent and at the first disagreement about money, curfew, choice of friends use that gun to blow her father and/or mother away. Natural Selection !
My 11 year old grandson owns and shoots a 22 gauge rifle. The rifle is locked away at his grandpa's house. He will never own a handgun while I am alive. I support and encourage sport shooting.I abhor handguns.
