Good Morning Hippie friends

My brother sent me this video and it got my revolutionary juices flowing again. Just want to share.

Well that ought to start some discussion. Good morning Diane. As a hippie, I of course don't trust the government.....BUT I only agree with parts of this.

Careful. Beneath the banal patriotic slogans and limits on the federal government, is a well funded campaign to insure the embarrassing high salaries of corporate executives at the expense of the average citizen who cannot afford adequate health insurance. If you think "Obama death panels" will ruin your old age health care, just pay attention to the current "death panels of the insurance industry."

If you have never been denied medical services because of some loophole in your insurance contract, then you are lucky and in the minority. The insurance companies would rather pay large bonuses than keep their policy holders alive.

The government's future plan - whatever that might be - can't be worst than our current system. Remember we are number 37 view link

These are the facts, about health-care-reform- that is being debated currently, there are no death panels. The above vid. is part of the known tea-party movement and you are correct,"death panels", do exist in the insurance industry! No plan would be perfect at first, but the current one, does allow for changes and care for ALL.

We are the wealthiest country in history and we cannot feed and clothe and provide heath-care for our citizens. I think the government should be involved, but there is a fine line as to where to begin and end! Big money is payed to many corp. exs-not just insurance companys, nothing new!

This could go on and on, separation of church and state,-taxes, why we elect and re-elect stupid people, wars, oil, education, r+d and on and on. Reform, of any kind, is not easy, status quo is. Isn' t that some of the things we believed in the 60's? I still believe!

We live in a great information age, but we also live in a great mis-information age-sometimes we must dig for the truth! It can be found.

The End

Cheers

"the current one, does allow for changes and care for ALL."

Our present health care plan - if you can call it that - is more expensive than any other health care plan in the world - and about 40,000,000 + Americans don't have any coverage at all. Many of them die from lack of medical care and quite a few go bankrupt.

It does need to change.....

I for one need it to change. But I agree that One term senators should not be paid full salary for life and there needs to be more oversight re their bennies.

I will be getting on Medicare next month and will see my insurance premium drop about $400.00 a month, thank goodness...!!!

I wish there was some way of having lobbyists pay into a pool whenever they lobby... If they buy a Congressman's $50 dinner then they put $50 into the pool so the "opposing interest" will be able to talk to him too... Seems only fair to me...
