People that haven't gotten involved with politics before this last general election don't realize how hard it is to cause positive change in this government. It moves like molasses on a cold day.
The problem for the most part, from how I see it, is that 25% of the people in this country are so ugly, loud, and misinformed that everyone thinks the majority feels that way. The news programs show whomever is the the loudest, no matter if their complaints hold water or not.
President Obama (I still love saying that) got a lot of stuff thrown at him when he walked into this job. He's gonna spend the rest of this term trying to un-do the problems the neo-cons have sabataged (?) him with. They knew he was gonna win, and they went about to make it hard for him to get anything done, then they were prepared to do exactly what what they have done. If he does anything, no matter what, it is spun into a negetive. It doesn't matter what he does, the main thing they are trying to do is make their base hate him, you, and everyone else who isn't as mis-informed as their fans seem to be.
The good part that's happening, though, is they still have Sarah Palin trying to turn them into total morons, or American Taliban, so I don't think Dems have much to worry about if she keeps trying to screw-up the republicans elections.
Conserative party? I think not. More like ignorant redneck party.

Pretty disgusting the way way certain 'news' people i.e. Hannity,et al. are trying their damnedest to make sure this President has the fight of all fights on his hands. I hope they go down in history as the nutjobs that they obviously are. I am hoping and praying that this health bill passes the Senate so I can stick my hand deep into Mr. Hannity's pocket and wrench his probbly 6 figure salary right out of his sweaty paw.
I think with all the deadwood and foot dragging Conservatives wailing at the top of their lungs that President Obama has shown us that he can make huge strides in spite of the interference they are running.

Isn't it terrible to hate someone else so badly that you cannot stand to see them succeed even if their success is good for you too? Poor losers. Desperate people. Throwing mud still. Willing to watch the whole country go down if only they can have their power back in order to keep THEIR status quo.

As an Independent I can tell you they haven't devised a torture that would force me to vote Rethuglian.....ever.

I believe in President Obama--- change takes time & most of these "cry baby repugs" have never thought out of the box---let alone the "sheeple" pen -- so, of course they are afraid of anything new--even if they will benefit from it in the end.

Change takes time and it also takes CHANGE of PEOPLE!

Rethuglians don't like the thought of change unless it is their idea. After 8 years a blind woman could see that their changes only benefited themselves. I have never seen a group of people so worried about THEIR pockets as this group is. everyone that I personally have heard complain about any of these changes are those who make money in the bracket that will probably FINALLY see a little more taxation. Maybe their loopholes are closing up and if so good. I know I pay my fair share and so should they.

I havent visited the group for a while...I thought I'd let things settle down .

I think he's doing fine, he seems cool which is what is needed.

I am very nervous about Afghanistan and wish he would do something compleatly different to War. I dont know what the mission is there. I am with Matthew Hoh, who says, get out.

I remain very much behind our bright, young, President! Like you fancy, I'll vote for him and continue to work for him, but I also agree with Matthew Hoh.

I remember what President Obama said at the the beginning of his presidency, "This is an Ocean line, not a small boat, and it take time to turn it around."

I liked reading everyones positive thougts on President Obama. I have literally had to shut off my tv not to hear any hate remarks about him. I won't even listen to their **anti health care commercials. I don't think this health care bill is anywhere close to what we need, we need single payer, but oh well. Any improvement is good.
I think our President is a good guy, and I hope he does the right thing and ends both wars. I have my doubts that will happen, but dreams are free.
I think the best trait he has, is his ability to THINK about something, not just react. And how about that peace prize?? Let's hope he can really truly live up to what that means. I know he wants to do the right thing, but it must be very hard when you are getting it in all directions. No matter what, half the country will be against him. I am on his side, whatever he does, because at least I know he has thought it out, and tried to come up with the best plan. Even if I disagree with that plan,which I will if he escalates Afghanistan.
Obama 2012 :) And lets keep hoping for an end to war.
