hi hippiemama, you are so right. I lived in England, Hong Kong & Israel. The best thing was, nobody minds your business. We are so concerned with what others are doing, we don't have time to smell the roses.
At times my husband and I hold hands, skip and dance in the street when we walk the dog. People look at us like we're crazy. We go out of our way to say hello to people and they act like they never heard the word.
I will say when I lived on the east coast, people were a lot friendlier. Here in Vegas, people are rarely outside and are not at all friendly. Funny thing is, I am originally form NY and the only people we meet that are friendly are also from NY.
Keep dancing and pass on the fun.

I love the idea of the piano keys; it also made more people react and interact with each other. I am sad that so many people seem so busy to rush on to something else that they fail to get the joy from speaking, smiling and passing the time of day with each other. There is a joy that fills your spirit and soul when we interact with each other. I say throw away the cell phones and begin to experience life together again.

well chess, you realize you wrote that on a computer, right? i like the social networks, because i live so far out from people.
but when people are around, i am friendly. not because i should, but we basically have two choices, nice or not. i just dont see the point in not. life works much better if we get along, and help each other thru it. either by holding a door, letting someone in in traffic, or making a song on a stairway.
im from nj, and lived in nyc. everyone says we are very unfriendly. and i have met many that are. but i have also met many that are very friendly. bottom line, those kids that made that stairway, had parents that let them think. and caused people to exercise and have fun. win win win
