List of things that helps deal with the pain.

I have several things that I use to help me on days when the pain starts to take over my life, and I wondered if others in this group has found ways to help them. So consider this a chain note, and she how many ways we might help ouselves.

1. In my case I am CAPTAIN of my health care programs.

2. I try to do some isometric excersises everyday. Leg lifts when laying in bed, even if I have to use my cane to get the leg up.

3. I do pain tracking, I found charts on line and I map out my pain where, intensity and what I was doing when it started, what made it feel better.

4. I have my fibro survival kit.

Ok thats is my contributions, I also thought that thtis would be a good way to get to know each other.

Hoping you are having a low pain day, and resting like babyies

5. I control what I will do, not the pain

6. Every activity extracts a price in pain, I will use any device to help me perform my activities and minimize the price

7. I tell the doctors what I need and what I don't

I have chronic migraine. I do have a "migraine comfort kit". I keep my favorite throw handy, it brings me comfort, especially if I have to go to the er or dr's for migraine, along with a fav small pillow.
I have a "bed buddy mask" that I sleep with and have handy if needed when light is too much for me.
I have just put up dark curtains in our bedroom, even tho we have blinds. There are times when I need to be totally in the dark.
I keep myself hydrated, I keep crackers on hand so if I don't feel like eating, I can at least nibble on them. I also keep Dramamine so that if I feel sick, I take it right away. If I start vomiting, sometimes it'll go on for hours, make my head worse and can even make it impossible for me to get in the car to go for help.

I am sorry to hear that your migrains are that disabilitating. I have had them all my life, and I TG that they usually never get to the point that I have had to go to the hospital. It prob. helps that I have those expensive migrain pills that I have only because I am on medicare part D other wise the costs are outragous. It sounds like you have your care kit ready and at hand.

Thanks for posting
