Place of Execution premieres Nov. 1, 2009, on MASTERPIECE CONTEMPORARY. It's 1963, and a young girl literally vanishes in a small English village. George Bennett, an obsessed young investigator, tracks the case. Twenty years later, journalist Catherine Heathcote (Juliet Stevenson) is taking another look at the case, and unearthing long-buried secrets. Based on the novel by Val McDermid, Place of Execution also stars Greg Wise (Cranford).
