Place of Execution premieres Nov. 1, 2009, on MASTERPIECE CONTEMPORARY. It's 1963, and a young girl literally vanishes in a small English village. George Bennett, an obsessed young investigator, tracks the case. Twenty years later, journalist Catherine Heathcote (Juliet Stevenson) is taking another look at the case, and unearthing long-buried secrets. Based on the novel by Val McDermid, Place of Execution also stars Greg Wise (Cranford).

OH NO! I missed the second episode. I really liked the first. The actress who plays the role of the reporter, I can't remember her name. Anyway, I have seen her in other shows and for me she just goes over the top. Most of the time she comes off wooden and cold. She is someone I defenetly would not want for a mother. No matter how many times she said she loved you, you just couldn't believe it.
