Differences In People

The citizens of the U.S. have the privilege of being divided. You never find two people who agree entirely, no matter what the question is. It is rare to find two people who agree on a subject without serious discussion on several points.

Looking back on history, it has never been really different. The political campaign fights even in the early 1800s seem just too familiar.

Yet we managed to build a nation which is the beacon of the free world, gradually move toward equal opportunity for all citizens, and become a superpower. So what exactly is it that we want to change? Should we all stand in line, pay our taxes, and keep our mouths shut, like they do in most other nations?

A thinking person can see when only the selected facts are given, and the rest omitted.

A thinking person can see that a celebration when a cop is run down is a childish reaction. How can anyone support that? Differences in people.

" There you go again, Kerry, jumping to conclusions. "

It doesn't take much to reach a conclusion about some people. It's not what they say, but the vacuum contained in what they say.

Dictionary: scha·den·freu·de (shäd'n-froi'də)

Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.

[German : Schaden, damage (from Middle High

Right now I would derive pleasure from someone coming forward and saying they saw you acting drunk at some point in your life, or they caught you looking at some pretty woman's ass when your wife wasn't looking, which I am sure you never ever have done being a right winger.

Just your saying that the feeling is childish is judgmental. Why can't "you people" see that?

Just like everybody is a little bit racist, everybody has some schadenfreude in them, especially when the cop is an SOB, like some of my former students who became cops because they had authority issues.

I have done all of those things, and still may, given the opportunity. One of YOU taped the Moral Superiority target to my back. What angers you people most is that no one can make me lose my self-control and use insults and vulgarity. Here's my secret: Before I reply, I go over the possible answers in my head until I hit one that makes me chuckle. That is the one I send. A fair person will chuckle along with me, and say "You got me" . A sorehead will come back with " Bullshit!", or something similar. This is a fun group, and I apologize if I haven't been completely fair.

You've done all those things. I knew it. You, therefore, are Jake in my book.

So, am I a chuckler or a sorehead? I see myself as a chuckler.

You do better than most, Crest. You are an A to A+ person in my book. Looking back over the replies in this thread, some get Fs, over and over.

I wouldn't run you over with my car, Kerry, for the same reason I make it a point not to step in dog crap. The smell tends to linger.

Great imagination, Pluto, but an overall F for taste and refinement.
