I hear ya!! With all the cold rainy days we have had I have suffered alot to with my legs. Swelling in both , burning in the toes, can't wear any shoes, can't stand to touch them, cross my feet, nothing. Now my left arm is acting up, I am losing use of it. I have alot of weakness, I noticed I couldn't even tear a piece of paper into.
Why does being over 50 has to be so miserable?
Come here every morning if you need to sound off, no one knows better than we do what pain & suffering is all about.
After a period of time I feel we can get to the point that the meds we have been on for long periods of time our body builds up a wall , and we need to change it up to stronger or try something else. You really need to talk to your doctor about this. There is no sense in suffering anymore than we have too. Take care & I do hope it gets better for you.

Thanks jsw. I,m planning on seeing my doctor Monday. I have to do something. I,m to the point where I can barely walk around the house, let alone get out and do what I need to.

Thanks Josee. Its not much better today because we have had two days of cold rain and its suppose to rain again in the morning. Sheesh!!
I feel for you...it's been damp here and my back and neck are just bothersome!

He put me on a new med I,ve never heard of. Its called Meloxicam? Mostly I notice it makes me real sleepy and haven,t taken enough to know if its going to help. I only take it once a day. Here,s hoping it helps.
Joygirl...I was prescribed Meloxicam 3 weeks ago...I take 75 milligrams 2 times a day...I don't know if the medicine is new or not but it's not helping me...don't give up though because everyone is different...it might work for you...I have pain in my back, neck, shoulder and head.

Meloxicam, or Mobic, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID). It's about the same as aspirin, Motrin or Alleve- no better, no worse. If other NSAIDs hadn't worked for you, Mobic won't and if your doctor didn't tell you that all he was giving you was glorified aspirin, you need a new doctor. Also Josita, the dosage on meloxicam is 7.5, not 75mg twice a day.
Joygirl, did your doctor ever come up with some kind of diagnosis for your pain? It doesn't sound like he's knowledgeable about chronic (or even acute) pain. It sounds like your doctor hasn't determined whether the pain originates in your leg or possibly your back, whether the pain is pain is muscular, skeletal, vascular or neurologic. You've got to find a doctor that can diagnose the source of your pain- then you might be able to get some decent treatment.
