Welcome to the group and glad that you found us. I am AG5P (arkcro) licensed in 1975 and have been here on eons since 2006, I joined this group at that time. I found this group when we only had 25 members.... Sure sounds like a great job working at ARRL HQ....are you still there or retired?

Again Welcome to the group, its a great bunch

Hi Charlie,

I'm retired, but a Life Member of ARRL. I even live in Newington and HQ is just 2 miles away. I mostly operate microwave and VHF/UHF. How about you?

Maryette,

Welcome to the group! I am relatively new to amateur radio, just got my license (Tech) in April. I am really looking forward to benefiting from your knowledge and experience. Thanks for joining us and again welcome.

Maryette,

Almost all my operating activity takes place on HF and 6 meters when it is open.....I discovered the digital modes in 2002 and at the same time 6 meters just after getting a Icom 746. I am a mainstay of the 20m and 17m digital area. Prior to 2002 90 % of my operating took place on CW, now that has dropped to about 60/40 digital to CW. I do a lot of CW in the truck while the wife and I travel, now that is lots of fun. She takes care of the log and I let here know the information....good driver co-pilot arrangement. Again it’s great to have you here.

Hello Maryette. Welcome to the group. What did you do when you were working for ARRL HQ?

Hi Dennis,

I worked in nearly every dept. there over my 2 decades! Clubs, VEC, Contesting, Lab, Accounting/Nusiness Services, Field and Educational Services, and for most of my long career, managed the ARRL Foundation, Inc. I did all this under the call signs KA1NAJ, N7IAL, and my current call. I founded and wrote the column, "At the Foundation" until I retired, and was a membet of the QST editorial committee. I had a lot of fun, knew and still know a lot of great hams, and leaned a lot! On-the-air activities with the HQ gang (and solo) were a lot of fun. I'm the first female to ever read live-on-the-air the Field Day bulletin, and I also hold the record for the only 10GHz microwave contacts via recumbent trike mobile with W1AW.

Hope I don't sound to self-agrandizing!

Many blessings, 73/88 Maryette, N1VH

Not self-grandizing at all. But very interesting. Thanks for all the great work you did at the ARRL and for Amateur Radio in general. Sure is nice to have you as part of this group.

Thanks and 73/88 de WB6CGJ, Dennis in Imperial, Ca.

This is great information Maryette and accolades go to you, for if we don’t toot our own horns who will. I for one am very appreciative of your ground breaking strides in the male dominated fields. The reason I believe in and support these endeavors comes from the advances accomplished by my wonderful wife. She was the first in the state in many things associated with her work for the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality and her part time job in the Arkansas National Guard.
