I just joined Eons tonight. 10/28/2009. I had Bladder Cancer in May 2007 , the same time my wife was diagnosed with Peritoneal Cancer. She fought for 3 years with Chemo, but it was terminal right from the start, she died last month 9-20-09. I am recovering from a colostomy surgery , that took place while we were both in the same hospital, we actually were in the same room for a day but since I developed an infection, I had to be removed from her room. She decided to stop her treatments because it was taking it's toll on her. She couldn't eat or swallow anymore and the IV's weren't being absorbed into her body. She went into Hospice and died within 8 days. I was let out of the hospital for the funeral and was realesed a week later. I have had a lot of support from my familiy and friends, but like now at night it gets very, very, lonely, we would have been married 45 yrs on Nov ,14th 09. If you have some cancer issues I can maybe give some incouregment, and tell you that you have to live every day as it was your last, you never know how your world can be changed in a split second.

Hi, Diamond Bob,
It is very hard to lose someone you love, very hard .
Keep your spirits high and your faith strong.
I have stage 4 breast cancer and have been on chemo for almost 4 years now and try to clelbrate every step of the way no matter how small.
I thank God for eery day and treasure every minute I am given, and the smallest blessing are the best ones.
I have been sick this week , as soon as Taxol hit my tummy it sounded the ouch signal., but I have klearned that diary products are a no-no.
You take care of your self and stay in tyouch with this group. We are here to help and support you at any time.
Remeber that Jesus is there wih you and he will listen and never leave you!

My heart goes out to you Bob! What a story! I can only imagine the loss and emptiness you must be feeling. I too have stage 4 lung cancer. I'm waiting on the CT scan now to see if I can enjoy some of my retirement, or get prepared for another battle with this insidious disease! My faith has also been a great help to me. That, and a positive attitude!

Heartfelt sympathy! I can't even imagine how you must feel but be comforted that she is in a better place. I too am a cancer survivor and by the grace of God I am here but I truly feel that had I been in a lot of pain with no signs of hope I would have wanted to go to my eternal home. We all must go someday and meet in heaven with our loved ones again.
Stay positive and feel free to share, vent, cry, scream, etc. Know that we are here for you.
blessings and light,
