ISN'T THIS A BIGGER PROBLEM?

Been thinking about this so I'd thought I'd throw this out to the group. Now most, if not all of us, can remember a time when our streets were safe, women could walk to the store at night and not worry. Even, God forbid, go to bed at night without locking our doors. What happened?

We spend billions overseas trying to fix everyone else problem, but we got this big canker sore call crime in our own front yard. So what's the deal? Why can't we take back our streets and get things back to where they use to be.

Lady we have a thread on "common sense" or the lack of it. If your gonna have a gun & badge you better be very well adjusted. Ohh one Xmas eve, driving home passing by my business (know the area well) An officer stopped me & gave me a ticket. I asked why? He said for not stopping at sign. I said "officer I did stop" He said "you only stopped because you saw me" Is that the lamest? Any way I was hoorified. Very bad time in my life. I went to court & pd. ticket. Thern about 6 mo. lateer A woman who worked at courthouse came into my salon. Apparently shortly after he have me ticket he was put on some sort of "mental leave" I was told he was on vacation. I had no idea that if officer did not show I did not have to pay. Also look at everything that's on TV.. Reality crap where everyone is verbally attacking one another. Sign of the times.

I recently saw an interesting piece on one of my local stations and the question was .."Do you feel safe within one mile of your home?"

When I was raising my kids I would have said sort of....we had a questionable area just outside our neighborhood but my kids could all walk to grade school and jr high.

Where I live now I would say within one mile yes...but anything beyond that ..no AND I wouldn't let my kids walk to school anymore.

Our city is plagued by lower tax revenue because of lost homes, lost jobs etc the same as everywhere America.

The officers we have are fine, there just aren't enough of them and no money to train more. Crime has risen because of this IMO.
