I like being retired. I have more time to waste or do something I want to do...now, if I just liked cooking !!
I seem to take more time, since I have it, to do things though....
that means since i am retired i will go fishing today.
Also another factor is if your in a committed relationship is one of you still working? I can't go fishing til "what's his name" gets home...
Retirement for me has meant switching professions. As for my wife, she went from working for a Fortune 400 company to working for herself. Interestingly, for both of us, our lap tops are our offices and they travel with us wherever we go.
If you aren't totally retired or totally working, are you reworking?
I think your "re-working" your retirement plan." Ohhh & praying that you do not end up as the "greeter at Wal-mart. .
For me, went from working, forced retirement, back to working part time. I tried the retirement for about two years, just wasn't for me. lol. Wife was tickled pink for this part time job.

Almost 7 yrs. ago I retired by closing my business. Now I get bored too easily. probably why I do this. :) For the 1st couple yrs. I did not know what to do with myself. I find I feel best keeping busy.
It also seems to make a difference if your in a comitted relationship & one of ya is retired & the other isn't.
I retired at 62 after 40 years at my profession. I thought I would miss it but I did not! I rarely have had a boring day. Most of the things I enjoy are free or not expensive. It is amazing how many things are free that I wasnt aware of prior to retirement. I was a better housekeeper when I was working with a schedule for room cleaning. Now I just put it off. But I am cooking a lot more now and trying different dishes. Do a little volunteer work .
Interesting that you had merntioned missing your job. When I had my own business I absolutely loved it. Then when I quit loving it I closed down. Your only good at the things you love. Ohh the one thing I did miss was the good conversation & debates. I think I got that covered here!
