Locale,Abode,Homestead

We all roost somewhere when the lights get dim.
where do you call home?you don't have to give a exact location, but what part of the world, country,or state that you call your lives?
since i never lived in a populated part of Oregon and make my home in the country for the last 30 years,i wouldn't or couldn't think of living in a city again.but times change.
i have noticed some from the southwest, southeast, northeast, the south and midwest even outside of the USA.
and what is it you like most of your area?

Living in Orange County, 30 miles east of Los Angeles, it's not far from whatever atmosphere you like! Ocean, mountains, desert all in driving range.

I live just west of St. Louis in a rural area. I love the change of seasons in the midwest.

I'm a city boy. I grew up in tenements in Brooklyn (New York City) and then lived in Manhattan and Queens. We moved to an upper middle class suburb outside Boston because of the school system.
I always hated the lawn and the snow and all the other suburban stuff. After out daughter moved out we moved to Lowell, a city of 110,000. I live in a condo building that was once a carpet mill.
No lawn, etc. to worry about.

This week I live in the country in rural Oklahoma; next week I will be living in a 2 stop-light town in rural Oklahoma. I don't like that my husband has a 40-minute commute to his job in Tulsa. I like everything important being within a mile of the center of town; knowing people everywhere I go; not having to deal with traffic; and dealing with some of the locally-owned businesses who remember what customer service is all about.

I live in Western MI in a small beach town. I love it here but I do miss the city and all of its diversity and activities. If I were rich I would have both a country and city home.
