lOCATION lOCATION lOCATION

Real Estate agents say "Location, Location, Location". How does your location affect your life? Are you happy where you are or would you like to move? How would a different location affect you? Before you answer; remember you're living in a fantasy world and money isn't an issue:}}

Give me ocean. Give me boats- lots of boats. Boat people are different. Give me a new place where the snow comes in a lot less and where you don't turn on the heat on the wintertime. Can I skip winter coats as well?

I moved often as a kid, every 4-6 years. Thought I hated it. I have lived in the same town for 30 years now, same house 26 years in Dec. I am ready for a change. I am tired of the same view (even though it is a nice one), the colder winters and the dark and gray days.

I am ready for some place with another view, more sunny weather, and new places to explore.

I went to 12 grade schools, we moved a lot, then I married a military man and we moved a lot. In the last thirty years though we've moved only three times, 2 years one house, 20 years at the next and 10 already here. We don't move often, but we are thinking like the rest of you, we'd like to be somewhere warm and with better light.

John, you need San Diego, or Florida,
I am a Oregon native, I have lived all over the state, the older I get the harder it is to deal with the cold damp winters, love the coast but it is cool and damp, same with the valley, central Oregon is ok but extream temps, same for new mexico, Austin Texas was nice but to humid in the summer, Singapor was to humid and about 80 deg every day of the year, I supose if I had to pick a place I would live out my life along the Metolius river here in central Oregon, the smell of the pines, clear blue water of the river, the small town sence of being there, where every body knows your name, you get the picture, it would be home to me.......kpkp

Well, if I *was* living in a fantasy world with no money issues, I probably would stay right here in Central Oregon. It's sunny most every day, and the sunsets are gorgeous. I don't consider the temps extreme, but then I lived in Kansas City Mo as a youngster, then grew up in So Cal. So I still like snow =)

The main reason I'd move would be because money is an issue. Real estate here is expensive now.
I have a friend near Albuquerque, New Mexico ~ she moved there about five years ago from Medford, and she loves it. I could possibly get acreage in the countryside there with a nice 4 bedroom home and outbuildings for about the price of a mobile home here. I'm thinking about it. Haven't ever been there. The main thing that I would need to adjust to there would be the relative lack of greenery. The warmer climate would be welcome, the skies are blue, a nice view of the Sandia mountains, and a laid back lifestyle.

Barb- Too funny.

Lots of street flooding here in Portland with today's rain. My condo courtyeard flooded. Could have used a spare canoe to get out this afternoon.

On the good side of things, the lifts at Mt Hood opened this morning. Ski season has arrived.

Woo hoo .. that will make the snowboarders happy. We only got a little rain, after dark here ... those mountains are a sponge and by the time the clouds get over here, there's not much left.

I wish I could find a job in the Pacific Northwest so that I could be living there now instead of in Mlada Boleslav, CZ. I am definitely not happy here! If money was no object, I would live on the north Oregon coast in the summer and live someplace warm in the winter - maybe Arizona or New Mexico.
