Hi summerrain03,
I think I've told you that I'm a social worker at a crisis center in a big city next to where I live. We go everywhere, people's houses, homeless shelters, emergency rooms, etc. We are a 24/7 operation and are even open on holidays. One of our social workers has contracted Swine Flu. The emergency room in the hospital where we go to told us not to send people there to be medically cleared because there is an epidemic of Swine Flu there, that people were waiting in the parking lot to be seen, that's how many people have been affected. We have put up flu precautions and we must wear gloves and masks when interviewing people. This is cumbersome, but very necessary. And yes, we do have hand sanitizer every where your eyes can see and we all use it. This is a very serious flu and the two precautions people can take are simply to wash their hands and sneeze into their elbows. Germs live longer on skin then they do on clothing so it's better to sneeze or cough into your clothing. Hope this helps and people take heed, this is a serious flu season.
On a lighter note, love your avatar!!! :-)

Thank you chezzie,Im so glad you happened along to reafirm how important it is to be careful and to wash, wash, wash those hands, and yes to cough into you elbow.Pssst...the avatar is my Halloween costume, lol.
We carry it in our automobiles, purses, every sink in our house too.
At our grocery store, they offer it and wipes to wipe down the carts.
It is very important to get your shots also.

I use it all the time, too. Read an article, tho, that said we are using so much of this anti-bacterital stuff that the bacteria are becoming immune to it. Anyone hear that?
I use it a lot, also. When I flew to visit my brother in Minn recently, I took some small bottles to use in the airport and on the plane. They'll let you take small bottles of toletries past security.
Yes, we have it in several locations in the house, and I carry one in my purse. My daughter teaches in an elementary school here and as the children come into the library and computer room and leave the rooms the teacher gives them a squirt on their hands coming in and going out. They have given each student a small bottle that they can attach to their belt loops, for themselves. They were told to wash their hands the length of time it took to sing one chorus of Happy Birthday.
