No but I did move to the mountains and only knew two other people. It was lots of fun
Twice I moved to towns where I didn't really know anyone. But, I'm a pretty gregarious person and can talk to almost anyone, so it didn't take long for me to 'fit in.'

Yes, and I still don't know anyone except co-workers. I'm pretty shy around people and just don't trust anyone, so it's my own fault.
I've bee here for 14 years. I like the area well enough. I'm 20 minutes out of Indianapolis, so there is lots to do here.
I met my husband through a co-worker. He was born & raised here.
Thanks, I think I will make the move as soon as I find a house. Its only 25 min from everyone I know. It seems it doesn't take many people to know to be comfortable. I have teenagers so I think it will be ok. Thanks
Very Interesting question?????
My husband and I moved to the state of Missouri in 2007, and did not know anyone here. We were and are paying on our land which we started paying on sight unseen. Now I know that we may have made some errors in judgement, how many would have started purchasing land without ever seeing it. Thankfully we are happy with the land we are now living on. The first few months were just awful, as we had to live without a lot of stuff including a house, running water or electric. Now we are doing better. We found an ad in the paper for a used mobile home for sale and bought it, then we had it moved to our property and we moved in. We had a window in each room that was broken and holes in all of the floors. So we got our housing repaired and am able to live comfortably.
Now as for not knowing anyone..... We would probably be dead by now if it were left to me, because I do not trust anyone and really are not a people person. But my husband is a super friendly guy and has made two guy friends of the people who live close to us. We also have found a resource for friendsw with the local group of veterans here. So now we are doing better and since we go to the VA hospital several times a month we have also found my other veterans who live around the state and have found friends there.
The only thing that I would suggest is to plan everything really well. Then go for it!!!
I've moved 26 times since High School. 6 time in 1 1/2 years. Just lived out of boxes and put mattresses on floor. no bed frames, no dressers, etc. Had no problems moving to new places. Was always an adventure. Finally divorced and married a great person who has never left the county. But we still do one day vacations to explore other places. JUST THINK OF IT AS AN ADVENTURE.
