Cadbury's Chocolate

Cadbury This a bar of Cadbury's chocolate, the best damn chocolate in the world, BAR NONE. But make sure you buy the British-made chocolate, the version made over here, by Hershey incidentally, tastes nothing like it. My favourite was always the 1 kilo (2.2 lbs) bar that I used to pick up at Heathrow Airport on my way home. I dream of it!

I've had Cadburys made in other countries and it just is not the same, not nearly as good. However, I think Galaxy chocolate is just a bit better than Cadbury.

Lovely stuff. I used to live by one of their factories and the smell that used to waft over at different times of the day was just heaven. As a child we were taken on a trip round there and were given samples but were told that working in there all the time gave them an aversion to chocolate.

Cannot imagine anything worse.

It has come close to closing but the name still stands even though as the photo says the company who now operate from there are called Premier Brands who I believe make tea !

It will always be Cadburys to everyone who ever knew it.

Hey Espirit. remember the jingle? "Nuts whole Hazelnuts, Cadbury's take 'em and they cover them in chocolate". My daughter and I sing that in the car when we make a "Brit-food run to Dallas". 'Cause we know we will get REAL Cadbury's from UK ----YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Haha yes I remember that. My mum was fussy about her candy (sweets) and as a child I was only allowed the "good" stuff. Brands she knew was safe. (were there any that were not?) anyway, I had a maiden aunt who would always come to our house on a Friday. She loved her sweets. She would always stop at the store and get some before coming to our house. I loved Friday nights and would sit in anticipation of what she might bring. Cadbury chocolate was one........mum liked it with caramel in it but me, I loved the nuts. Not nuts and raisins though, not so much. Now they have it with orange inside or rasberry....oh Lord.

I'm a purist. My favourite chocolate is plain milk chocolate. Not that I don't like any other kinds, but melting a chunk of pure chocolate in your mouth is bliss.

Is it Cadbury's that makes the Aero chocolate bars? YUM!

It used to be Rowntree Ladyjane, but who the hell knows who owns them now. Mzungu, I'm with you, plain milk chocolate, either the 500 gram or 1 kilo bar. They sell them in Woolworths in the UK.

Kraft Foods is trying to buy Cadbury. I can think of nothing more obnoxious, that a company that makes plastic cheese slices might get its hands on a quality product like Cadbury. Puke!

Yes Taffy, that would not be good. I used to love it in the old days when we would get a decorated choclate Easter egg. Would have lovely flowers made of Royal icing all over. The egg would be empty and have things like Quality Street or chocolate buttons inside. The first few years we were here mum would send one out to us. Always got broken but was still oh so good. Then they got too expensive and were replaced by other junk
