been a great year for me
Ahh, Summer is over, but I still bask in the glow of my best year ever.
Being retired is turning into a great job!
I spent the whole summer doing just what I wanted, and I'm not feeling guilty one bit!
But, now it's back home till next spring. Time for this old bear to hibernate again, so I'll be around more now.
Missed not being here, but only sometimes! he he.
So what's been up with Old Tokers? I hope everyone is still here.
It's fall and the outdoor season is over here in Oregon. The meds have all been dried and there is a lot it everywhere you turn here. Hope it's the same where you are.
I didn't totally retire. I still go in just to hang with everyone. The owner of the shop didn't want me to leave, and while my bro and I were in Yellowstone we talked about it and I guess I should do something with myself, otherwise all I will do is sit around with the vape going, and I find I don't get as much done, and it starts to hurt my lower back if all I do is lay there watching the tube, which, sad but true, is what I end up doing. So people at work are mostly happy about it, and I am too.
Later, Norm
High and Welcome Back, Norm! I'm glad you had such a superb summer, out in the wilderness, living simply. But now that you're home, get busy! Only kidding...! Still, you sound like you should get involved in more than vegging out in front of the tube, so hopefully you'll find something that "sparks" your interest.
Not a whole lot has been going on here at OT -- we have a few more members. I've been somewhat "scarce" here because we harvested our garden, and now there's a ton of trimming, drying, and storing to be done. In fact, our area here in the mountains is in FULL HARVEST mode, with some "gardeners" paying up to $20/hr for your pot-trimming expertise! My old man works with a couple of guys who leave work everyday, then go on over to the grower's place and earn extra "trimming" money!
MojaveMama started a thread here, "Three Word Story Game," several weeks ago, where you add just 3 words to the previous person's post, (a fictional stoner story), creating some unusual, and unintentionally funny, plot twists! Again, I'm glad you're back, because I consider you an OT "growing guru," with knowledge and expertise that we can count on. Stay High and Peace! Alison
Master Po!!!! Welcome back, buddy!!!!! You have been SO missed.
So glad to hear you had such a fantastic summer. There's a lot of good things to be said about being retired, don't you think? I'm loving it...
So what's that little hidden gem in your post, you are VAPING now???? Tell, Tell! When did you get your vape and what kind is it? I just got a DaBuddha a few months ago. Love it to death. It's a whip type and I snort it through my nose--really good hits that way!
So how did your crop turn out this year? Were you pleased? Did you ever grow that Lemon Drop/Trainwreck? Which of your strains turned out the best? How are you liking your cannabliss?
No problems with your truck holding up with all that summer travel? Did you like Yellowstone?
Have you started your winter grow yet? What kind of lights and size are you using?
REALLY good to have you back again!!!
I have a grow I started Sept 15. So far, I've had some nute problems, but that's adjusted now.
I also have several "micro" grows going, just to practice growing skills. I'm growing them in Monster Energy Drink Cans, Candy cans, Cookie pots. A GREAT challenge to try to water properly and nute properly in such a tiny container, and without any drain holes! I'm learning a lot from this experiment.
Toke it Up, everyone!
Glad you're learning retirement. I think my hubby and I have been working hard to be the best at it. Still have one plant drying, all the rest are done. Am going to try some for the first time tonight.
Fall is beautiful.
Good to hear from you guys.
I got a vaporizer that is made from a wooden box that looks like a metronome, a lot of them are around. It has a hose on it that you toke, not a bag.
Cost me 180.00. So I took a pic to a friend and he said I should've talked to him. He has the same one and wanted to get rid of it, so I bought his for 80.00 and it's with another medical friend who just loves it.
The crop here is always comming in, as I stagger them a month apart from each other, so it's always fresh. 2 per month.
The rest of the babies i've cloned just hang around till I'm ready for them, so it's always well matured when they get ripe.
In yesterdays Oregonian here in Portland there was an article on the front page about 2 different lounges the have opened or are about to be opened for us medical people. The fist two in the nation!! That's right, we're number 1!!!! I'm gonna check the one out in the next few days, then after the other one opens I'll try them.
The one in operated by n.o.r.m.l. and you need to pay a 35.00 fee to become a member, but after that I can get some new clones.
Also,There is a new site comming out of Portland that is really showing some promise, so google BUDBOOK and you'll see what people around here are doing. Lots of nice pics
I had a really good time with my brother in Yellowstone. 2 weeks was just enough. The place is like a huge bison ranch.
We went there to fish, but it was so amazing we just drove around and took pictures. Want to post some but the hard drive is full, so I'm gonna get an external to add on.
It is pretty cool being kinda retired. I mean kinda, 'cause when I got back from my daughters in Maui and was prepared to move on, the girls at work and the owner of the shop wouldn't let me. That and while in Yellowstone my bro and I talked, so what else will I do?
I gave away most of my customers, and now I just go in and hang around for something to do, really. I have to put out the fires the women start with each other. That seems to be my job, now. I just go in and radiate my wonderfulness to the crowds and everyone stays happy. ;)
What a great life. It pays to stay positive and happy, unaware of all the reality spewing around you.
Anyway, enough of that.
I gotta go. Norm
Keep radiating, Master Po. Two thumbs up on the Yellowstone trip! Hope you'll post and email more often. You have been missed!
Thanks, Deb. I've thought about you, too!
Love the new face shot.
I'm going to the new 420 lounge today to see what that's all about. Maybe I can meet a nice hippie-type lady there, though I'm not into meeting women at bars, this might be different.
I hope the place is nice, I've been to some ugly dope-inspired places, I hope it's all good at this one.
The new crop is really good. I got about 6 1/2 oz. off the last plant, so I'll have plenty to share with the right people or person.
Also gotta watch my college football today. Great way to waste a few hours. Go Beavers and Ducks!!
I forgot to tell you guys how proud of my daughter I am. She sent me 2 pics of the plants I helped her get started there. Someone sold them some plants for 80.00 that they then put in a dark room with the shades down and 2 18 inch grow tubes placed about 3 feet away, and was all seedy.
I took the plants (there were 4) and put them outside on their lanai where they got sun, and got some food for them, and let it go.
The plants started growing sgsain, with no new seeds, so they must have been dustedbefore.
They have saved the seeds as they have matured, and they are now all gone. They phoned me a pic yesterday and it's looking really good!
all big buds. They thought they were ready, but I told them to wait another month and they would be very happy.
I also started a plant for them with seed I brought. and it's over a foot tall now, so it's good. I'm very happy to see my daughter doing something she finds so exciting.
I'm also very proud that she isn't as attracted to the bottle as she was before. It seems as though Valium works to help her take-it-or-leave-it attitude towards beer. I thought she would die early, but not now.
In the past if she had a beer she wouldn't stop untill she was put in jail. She lost her son because of it. (He's here in Portland where I get to see him often.) Better days for her and me, too, knowing she is doing well.
Gotta go watch them Beavers play! Norm
