What is it that the White House does not want us to know?

I was watching CNN and saw that Obama and the White House was telling us that we should not be watching Fox News. So I started watching the Fox News channel, I'm glad, it is a real eye opener. I have now changed my opinion about some of this nations leaders.

Every one should watch Fox News, before you make up your mind about anything the government is doing or plaining to do. I now see why the White house would prefer that you not watch Fox News. Fox News gives both side of the issues.

Why would any one tell people not to do something, It is only going to get them to give it a try. The government should want the public to be well informed, should en they?

US citizen should hear both sides and then make there own decision about the information they get on a issue. The White House must think the people are not capable of making good desicisions if they hear both sides of a issue. The information they receive from any one may not be true, each person must make the desicisions based on hearing both sides of an issue.

I agree 100%.

What we need to do, as a nation, is to remember that WE are the government. It is NOT a separate entity, or enitities acting as they wish to. This group of our hired help are RULING, not, governing.

Telling people not to watch a particular news channel is really stupid because it will lead to some people doing exactly what you did, ams454.

As usual, you are right on target DesertDeb. And as far as the White House is concerned, I believe Ramn Enanuel is causing the president more headaches (and unnecessary ones at that) than any other presidential advisor in history. Remember how the media attempted to crucify Carl Rove. Where’s the outcry now? We all know the president is very left wing but Emanuel is attempting (unfortunately successfully) to drive him and the country even further left.

Say there, ams454, were you a FoxNews watcher before or not until AFTER you heard about the White House boycott? I might add you do not necessarily have to be a conservative to watch and appreciate their programming. Even during the programs of the commentary personalities they have contrasting debates. And when it comes to news they gives both sides of the issues as you pointed out. Further, they don’t pick and choose what they will run depending on ideology. One of my favorite personalities on that network, Bill O’Reilly, predicted that the boycott would cause more people including all segments, right, left and center to watch. If you’re still on line you might want to check out his syndicated newspaper column for tomorrow. view link . IMO, it’s some pretty good writing.

Thank you Papa, I'd so rather be wrong on this crew, though. Unlike the far-left, who, just keep on ignoring just why many of us are not falling for all this - and we are from diverse political pov.

And your point about watching FOX - I have to say I don't watch much news, at all. My sources are diverse and I take what comes across my emails, groups and such, then, research the government players involved the the actual bills/policy being put forth. If I want the best of the slant to the left, I open my Yahoo front page, scan the headlines, gaze over the articles, then, off I go to find what really was said, or done.

Wish more would.

it really is odd how we all look at things so differently. I NEVER heard nor read where the Obama administration asked or told folks not to watch fox. Now I do understand where this administration is asking real news outlets to not take fox leads and turn them into some type of legitimate news reporting. Kinda like "drudge" with his phoney story on Presidential hopeful John Kerry and a totally made up false (lie) claim about an affair. When this bogus RUMOR was discovered for what it was The Drudge Report lost some credibility.
Fox ix what it is and this is different to each person watching or listening to it. As Colbert said, when will the media stop becoming stenographers? Funny thing is I kind of blame the NYT's for their Judith Miller fiasco as a stenographer for the last Administration. After all that LACK of journalism cost us thousands of lives and trillions of dollars.

Freemind, You are a left leaning person. Your post proves beyond a shadow of a doubt where your loyalites lie. You are still beating up on Bush. You could care less about what is really important in todays headlines and what is important in our lives. You want to continue to harbor ill feelings of a past administration and use it as a basis for not going forward and addressing present and future problems.

WHy do you not just leave this group and stay in your own realm of influence. LIBERALISM! "IT IS A MENTAL DISORDER!"

As for Fox News. Yes I do watch it more than anything. Actually, it is the only network that I watch for news ever. I do not even have any of the local affiliates on in my house. They have only proven that they support the liberal side of things which I have no respect for. I am a conservative, moderate. I have no use for liberal left leaning ideas. These ideas are in most cases immoral and unethical, and in my opinion are a violation of law and of my constitutional rights. If someone violates my rights (the left) then I have a problem. Or in most cases, someone has a problem because I am one American who will stand up and fight for what I believe in, and those in opposition have a real problem.

There are many different types of shows on the Fox News channel. Some I like, some I don't. I started watching the Fox News channel when I was working odd hours and wanted to find out what was going on in the world at odd hours. My daughter suggested I try Fox News as an alternative to CNN. I do think Fox News tries to present more points of view. Sometimes I check out CNN but usually get disgusted with them. I do watch the local(Atlanta) CBS affiliate at 11pm most of the time. They have mostly state and local news and give tomorrows weather 5 min into the show.
