Are Anti-Aging Products a Waste of Money?

Practically every newspaper, magazine, or TV ad these days is promoting some kind of anti-aging product. Just what do you think about spending money on these products? Are they all a waste of money or do some of them actually work?

Are we talking something to give you the skin of an 18 y.o. or something to take internally that will help you live forever?

Doesn't matter - anthing tagged as "anti-aging" - can be internal or external. Probably referring mostly to creams and ointments though.

We can't lump everything together as 'those products." There is hormone replacement therapies, collagens, HGH, human growth hormone and other products that regenerate cells, inside and out.

One can't generalize about the products on the market anymore than saying, "there are lots of advertisements for foods. Are all no good or are they all good and nutritious to eat."

Let me put it this way: in your experience have you used any anti-aging products that you would endorse? ie: anti-wrinkle creams?

anybody, I am getting a wrinkle a day, I swear. Now need the dimmer lights. Never thought that would be me. Use a daily moisturizer. Oh, boy

Some estrogen creams are good to restore firmness and moisture to the skin. There are some sites online that give ratings on the various anti wrinkle reduction creams, too. One from a federal agency. If one googles about they can find some objective reports of tests on various products.

My favorite is Suave Vit. E lotion, or any cheap lotion with Vit. E oil added, or even straight Vit. E oil on the skin. which I also have done.

It also helps to eat lots of veggies, including a wide variety of veggies, preferably home grown, drink water instead of soda, and don't avoid fat in your diet like it was the plague or something. Don't smoke or hang out with smokers, very bad for the skin. Not to mention getting a reasonable amount of outdoor exercise, and enough sleep.

I think winkles are beautiful. I always have even as a young person. Just look at the faces of some of the older adults and tell me they are not beautiful. I was so happy when I started getting wrinkles. Just relax and enjoy the wonderful life you have lived.

oilangel... what a wonderful, positive attitude you have... I don't think any of the "anti-aging" products really work... I think we have to be happy in our own skin and quit searching for that "fountain of youth"

I think these products do play on insecurites. It's hype. And that's how they make their money with air-brushed older women on TV. Their faces are definitely diffused.
