Joni Mitchell

Am working on a short story that refers obliquely to Joni, my ex-husband and jug wine. When women who are interested in music (folk singers, djs, just fans) get together, eventually, we will sing parts of the Joni catalog.

Heard the amazing Massachusetts-based folk singer Vance Gilbert on the radio (streaming live on WUMB . . . if you are a folkie, check it out!) sing "Case of You," a song that it would seem a man could never pull off. The honey voiced Vance does.

Would love to present it to you but it is not available on youtube. So I will offer the divine version by Diana Krull.

If Joni wrote nothing else, A Case of You would still have made her immortal.

A phenomenal woman here interpreted by another phenomenal woman:

POM, I've always been a HUGE Joni Mitchell fan, and more recently a Diana Krall fan. Thanks for the music. Court and Spark remains one of my favorites.

I discovered Diana Krall about a year ago, maybe two. She has a beautiful voice and she uses it so well.

Court and Spark was my teen years! It helped a lot with the angst.

Never heard of Krall--will have to try her.
